LB 18 is in process!

2017 NDAA Legislative Report

Legislative update!

LB18 was approved in select file today!  Last stop in the unicameral is final reading...we don't know when that will be, hoping soon!

Nebraska Dental Assistants Association in union with Nebraska Dental Association, have continued to work together on our bill. In 2016, our bill was identified as LB901, this year the bill number changed to LB18. Same bill with just a couple of tweaks.

The goal of our bill is to modernize the dental team in Nebraska. In order to provide Nebraskans with improved access to safe, affordable dental care, the bill creates a new category of licensed dental assistants, in addition to unlicensed dental assistants. The bill also creates expanded function dental assistants, which are licensed dental assistants who, after completion of education and testing, receive permits to perform additional functions as part of the dental team.
